Comfortably Yum! There is much more to a restaurant than just food. Do the restaurateurs and servers have personality? Do they have a vision? Do they see the people at their tables as individuals or consumers? Do special orders upset them? Is the environment they've created one you're made comfortable in, and if so, do they mind if you linger? On all fronts, the Gypsy Den is one of Orange County's great hangs, and it doesn't hurt that the food is also very, very good. The first Gypsy Den was established in 1994 in the LAB anti-mall in Costa Mesa, CA. With its plush chairs, funky fixtures, thriftstore treasures in every nook and cranny, prayer rugs hanging from the multi-colored walls, the Gypsy Den offers a bohemian retreat from the cares of day. The warm lights and eclectic decor provide a comforting antidote to the sterile walls of offices and workplaces. Outdoors, there's a fine patio vibe, with lots of plants, trees, climbing ivy and a fountain, all of which give you the feeling you're in your own private Eden, surrounded by the delicious temptations which fill the menu. |
